Family Stores Doing the Most Good®

I was drinking on a daily basis and using drugs just to feel normal. One of my friends had gone through the spiritual program here at The Salvation Army –ARC and saw that I was struggling with life in general and my addiction. He recommended that I go and get the help he got from The Salvation Army with his addiction. I knew Jesus was out there, but I did not fully have Him in my life, so I made the choice to get my life under control.

I have been working off site at one of the Family Stores for my therapy, and enjoy the variety of work that I get to do at the store level. The stocking of the shelves, hanging clothing, sorting… has helped me maintain a sober and healthier life style. My work therapy and classes have helped me grow closer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I look back and I know that Jesus was there for me, and that He was ready to accept me right where I was. I can now look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with God and working a good job to support myself and my future family.
